WHAT IS THE FRIULANA SLIPPER ?

scarpet, papussa, friulana slipper.

traditionally the friualana slipper was a poor shoe, handmade with fabric scraps, bicycle tires and felt.

initially sold in large straw baskets brought to Venice by the women of the Friulian countryside, it is then widely used by gondoliers thanks to its simple form and perfectly non-slip rubber soles.

With the passage of time, the "friulana" literally takes foot and begins to be sold in its most trivial forms in the stalls of the Rialto Bridge.
